The LaSalle Rowing Club has a number of clinics scheduled for rowers eager to learn more about the sport.

Coaching

The LRC is seeking new and energetic coaches to kick-off the 2003 season, and help its Learn-To-Rows, competitive and recreational rowers.

Proper rowing techniques depend on well-performed skills, including good posture, correct use of hands and blade work.  Bad habits can develop, which detract from the performance of other members in the boat.  Rowing skills are enhanced through drills, new methods, ideas, and demonstrations.

Coaches assist athletes to learn and develop these essential skills.  A coach must be able to mentally picture the rowing movement in order to teach, compare or correct a technique.  If you want to learn more about the sport of rowing, then the challenge of coaching may be for you.  Coaches will be paired to teach the Learn-to-Row sessions.

All coaches must have technical level 1 certification.  Level 1 theory is also recommended.  (www.ontariorowing.org/clinics.html).
