Social:  Saturday, February 15, 2003, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.   Gibralter Climbing Company Located at Sandcastle Recreation, 3901 Huron Church Road (just off of Todd Lane.)  Start your training with indoor wall climbing.  Test your strategy, balance and power on the wall…  Cost:                $ 15.00 Please RSVP ASAP to Kirsten Altenhof, altech@mnsi.net   For anyone who hasn’t done this, it is a blast.  No real experience, or anything else, necessary.  So far, over 8 people have signed up.  There’s room for 15.

Friday, March 21, 2003, 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.  Saturday, March 22, 2003, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Level 1 Technical Colonel Bishop Elementary School, LaSalle.  Instructor:  Mike Thompson.  Contact:  Herb Colling acolling@wincom.net Cost: $ 80.00, payable to LaSalle Rowing Club.  Send cheques to Anne Colling, Box 1377, 641 St. Charles St.  Belle River, Ontario, N0R 1A0.  ASAP So far, nine people have enrolled.  There’s room for 15.  This certification will enable you to coach LTR’s this spring.  We’ll have coaches in two-member teams, so the job isn’t too tough on any one individual.

Friday, April 11, 2003, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Level 1 Theory, Windsor.  Contact:  Michelle Gaus  (519) 979-8180                  mlgaus@wincom.net  Cost:  $ 85.00  This includes a manual.  It isn’t required to coach at Level One, but it is required to go on to Level Two Certification.  So far, five LRC members will be taking part in the March 28th, and 29th course.  The more the merrier.  It’s an excellent chance to expand your skills.

Cost:  $ 100.00 (for members only) Enrolment is limited.  Right now, this is fully booked.  But, if there is sufficient interest, we could put another course on later in the season.  By the same token, for those who have booked, send your cheques to Anne Colling, Box 1377, 641 St. Charles St. Belle River, Ontario N0R 1A0.  This will ensure your spot.  First paid, first served.                

 

Dues, Etc.

 

Club members, be advised, your dues are now due.  The club has changed its schedule for collecting dues for insurance purposes, to meet club commitments to ORA, and to prevent late and delinquent payments that have occurred in previous years.  Please assist the directors in the running of your club.  Dues are $200 for rec. rowers, and $250 for comp. rowers.  Cheques (in installments, if desired, post-dated before May first and made out to the LaSalle Rowing Club) may be sent to club treasurer: Anne Colling, Box 1377, 641 St. Charles St., Belle River, Ontario N0R 1A0.  Dues must be paid before you row.  Please make it easy on yourselves and the club.

 

The board has also regretfully accepted the resignation of Shealagh Oliver as a director.  She’s stepping down for personal reasons, but will maintain an association with us.  As a result, the board is also looking for an energetic person to replace Shealagh.  If you’re interested, contact the board ASAP.  It is imperative that this position be filled, so if you’ve got what it takes…..
